Huffington Post has all the information here. I, for one, am so excited! Paper Towns is one of my very favorite books. Ever! I even learned about copyright traps from it.

The Fault In Our Stars & This Star Won't Go Out
The Fault In Our Stars trailer, The Fault In Our Stars trailer, The Fault In Our Stars trailer!
If you haven't read The Fault In Our Stars, put a copy on hold before the movie comes out on June 6th!
In related news, This Star Won't Go Out: The Life and Words of Esther Grace Earl came out yesterday! According to TeenReads.com, "This Star Won't Go Out chronicles the life of Esther Grace Earl. Diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age twelve, she lived with the disease for four years. During that time, she befriended her favorite young adult author, John Green, at a Harry Potter convention. Green’s cross-generational friendship with Esther motivated him to write his New York Times bestselling novel, The Fault In Our Stars, although the novel tells a far different story than Esther’s." The Fault In Our Stars Release Date
The very much-anticipated The Fault in Our Stars movie has gotten a release date! Mark your calendars: June 6, 2014!
The movie, based on John Green’s novel, tells the story of Hazel Grace and Augustus, two teenagers who meet in a cancer support group and fall in love. This YA novel tackles life, death, and love with "the perfect blend of levity and heart-swelling emotion." (Seira Wilson, Amazon Best Books of the Month, January 2012). Hazel is sixteen and has terminal cancer. She meets Augustus at her cancer support group and the two bond immediately and then they fall in love. They discuss questions about living and dying, honestly and deeply, giving all of us a chance to contemplate some big questions.
The film is currently still shooting on location in Pittsburgh and Amsterdam and, according to Moviefone, is one of the fastest page-to-screen adaptations in recent movie history.
You can read the Entertainment Weekly article on the release date here. And you can read the Moviefone article on the movie's production here.
Here's a picture from John Green's Twitter of him with three of the cast members, Shailene Woodley (playing Hazel), Ansel Elgort (playing Gus), and Nat Wolff (playing Isaac):

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them... the movie.
There's news on the J.K. Rowling front! According to this New York Times article, a deal has been made with J.K. Rowling to create new movies! And for the first time, Rowling will become a screenwriter!
Her movie, planned to be the first in a new series, is an adaptation of the Hogwarts textbook "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a book that extends the world of Harry Potter wizardry to a different character named Newt Scamander. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world," says J.K Rowling. "The laws and customs of hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry's gets underway."
But wait! There's more.
Warner Brothers studio (who's releasing this film and who also released all the Harry Potter films) said that the agreement would also allow them to create new attractions and initiatives connected with its existing Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios. Also, in television, the deal also makes Warner Brothers the global distributor of a BBC miniseries based on "The Casual Vacancy," J.K. Rowling's first (and, as of now, only) novel for adults.

Paddington Bear Movie Update
Back in May, I posted about Clifford the Big Red Dog and Paddington Bear being made into movies. Today we have an update on The Paddington Bear movie!
Set for release November 24, 2014 the movie is based on the popular book by Michael Bond and is about a young English boy who befriends a talking bear he finds at a London train station.
It will be brought to the big screen by Harry Potter producer David Heyman and director Paul King.
Not much new about Clifford, although I did stumble across this May 2012 article from FirstShowing.net which speculates that the film will be out in 2013 to celebrate Clifford's 50th anniversary. We'll see!

The Fault In Our Stars Movie Update
Hey The Fault In Our Stars fans! Remember the talk of a movie adaptation a few months ago?
This Hypable article, contains a video of an interview with Wyck Godfrey (the producer of the film, who's also responsible for the Twilight movies) who says in it, “It is the best book, it makes you rip your guts out, it makes you want to go out and live a better life. I love it, I can’t wait to make it” and “I’m producing it, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who wrote 500 Days of Summer, wrote the script – it’s brilliant. I’m getting ready to hire a director, we’ve got all the actresses you would ever want to be in it, want to play Hazel Grace. So I’m excited about that.”
This is big news! Looks like it's really happening! Yay! Be sure to read the full article here!

Francis Lawrence, Director of Catching Fire
Catching Fire, the Hunger Games sequel is due to come out on November 22, 2013. But there are going to be a few changes this time around. Most notably, The Hunger Games' director, Gary Ross, isn't returning to make the newer movie. Instead, the movie will be directed by Francis Lawrence (no relation), who also directed Water For Elephants and I Am Legend.
According to The Huffington Post, the new director is "looking to keep Catching Fire authentic."
To the Los Angeles Times, Jennifer Lawrence said, "The new movie will be very real, which is what I’m excited about," and then, "I really like his take, which is a lot of what I liked in Gary Ross. It’s the realistic grasp of the story instead of all the details of the imaginary things."
Catching Fire will start filming this fall!

The next is called "Tribute Trials," where you can see if you can survive being in an arena like the one in the Hunger Games, then try to discover how you might improve your chances.

If you lost power this weekend, chances are you missed the MTV Video Music Awards. In typical MTV Award Show Fashion, there was a pretty important movie trailer premier. Last night, we got our first glimpse at The Hunger Games movie!
Unfortunately, it was a little disappointing, all that anticipation to see Jennifer Lawrence run for a few seconds and the mockingjay logo rotate a few times. But never the less, take a look and get a feel for the much-anticipated Hunger Games movie:
And don't forget, if you still haven't read the book, there's plenty of time! Reserve a copy of The Hunger Games now.

Hugo Trailer
In the wake of the release of the final Harry Potter movie, there is some exciting news for Hugo Cabret fans (like me)! The first official trailer for Martin Scorsese's "Hugo," based on Brian Selznick’s award winning book, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" has been released!
Take a look! It's beautiful.
This is Martin Scorsese's first 3D film as well as his first family-oriented film. "Hugo" is the story of an orphan boy who lives a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station in the 1930's. When he meets his friend, Isabelle, the two get wrapped up in a mystery involving a mean toy shop owner, Hugo's late father, and an automaton.
For more on the Hugo cast, see IMDB.
If you haven't read Brian Selznick’s 2008 Caldecott winner (and one of my personal favorite books), "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," you can reserve a copy here.

The Giver to be a movie

According to Variety, Jeff Bridges had been developing a feature version of the popular book for nearly a decade and it is now finally due to be out in 2013.
If you haven't read the book yet, it's a classic for children, teens, and adults. It follows 12-year-old Jonas, who lives in a futuristic society where all memory of human history (and suffering) has been erased. When, on is birthday, he learns that he has been designated to take on the role of the Giver, the one who will retrieve all of human memories, he learn that blocking all pain and suffering comes at a high cost.

The sixth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is due out November 15th, in less than five months! It's called "Cabin Fever" and, like the title implies, it's about being stuck inside during a huge blizzard.
Six summer “Snowball in July” events will be announced soon as well, which should get everyone even more excited about the release of Book 6. They will feature a giant Wimpy Kid snow globe (cool!), treats (yum!), and special book previews (exciting!).
In other Diary of a Wimpy Kid news, the second movie, Rodrick Rules will be released on DVD next Tuesday, June 21. To put a copy on reserve, click here!

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and the full Hunger Games movie cast

This week’s Entertainment Weekly (available tomorrow) will feature pictures and interview with Jennifer Lawarence about the Hunger Games movie! It's really coming!
Here is a little preview from the article on the Entertainment Weekly website:
When Lawrence was offered the role, she describes her response as a mixture of elation — and desperate anxiety. “I knew that as soon as I said yes, my life would change,” she says. “And I walked around an entire day thinking ‘It’s not too late, I could still go back and do indies, I haven’t said yes yet, it’s not too late.’” And yet, who can turn their back on Katniss? “I love this story,” she says, “and if I had said no, I would regret it every day.” After officially signing on, Suzanne Collins herself called to offer a starstruck Lawrence her most hearty congratulations. “I feel like when you said yes,” the author told her, “the world got lifted off my shoulders.”
And, similarly, several more actors have been added to the Hunger Games movie lineup. IMDB lists them here: The Hunger Games (2012) Full Cast and Crew.
Exciting stuff on the Hunger Games front!
